Gowanda, NY — Connie Sue Gabel, 53, of Gowanda, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY.
She was born July 15, 1971 in Gowanda, NY the daughter of the late Douglas E. and Ruth Y. (Leiker) Gabel.
Connie attended Gowanda Central School and had worked with the Integrated Employment Program at Heaven Scent in Gowanda, NY. She also had participated in the Special Olympics and enjoyed therapeutic horseback riding. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s RC Church.
She is survived by a sister Karen (Bert) Miller of Gowanda, NY and a brother Gary (Barb) Gabel also of Gowanda, NY, several loving caregivers, and also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 East Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Wednesday May 14, 2025 from 10 am – 11:30 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at noon from St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Gowanda, NY.
Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute or St. Joseph’s RC Church.
