Craig Brown
Craig passed away at 80 years peacefully at Buffalo Inpatient Hospice on Feb. 10, 2025. Craig was born in Jamestown on July 2, 1944. He was predeceased by a son Randy, his parents Virginia and Clayton Brown and Stepfather Rodney Brown, Brothers James Brown and Jeffrey Brown. He graduated from Randolph Central School and shortly after, enlisted in the Army serving in Viet Nam. He was a great man with many accomplishments in his life. He worked as a Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputy earlier in his life and also as an RN. Despite his blindness, he achieved his Degree in Hospital Administration and served as a long time hospital board member and board president for both Tri-County Memorial Hospital and TLC-Lake Shore Health Network. Craig was awarded the New York State Trustee of the Year Award for which he was very proud. He also was awarded The Spirit of Gowanda Award. Craig was a member of the LK Painter Center Board of Directors for a brief time and enjoyed memberships at the Gowanda VFW, Gowanda American Legion, the Gowanda Moose Lodge, and the Gowanda Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Surviving are his loving wife Sue whom he married on May 19th, 1984, brothers Gary Brown (Jodi)of Randolph and Greg Brown of Springville; a sister Suzanne Suhr (Tom) of Webster, NY. He also leaves behind wonderful friends Joan and Tom Duffey of Gowanda and his beloved dog Corky. Also, many nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Burial services will be private at a later date.
