Darlene S. (DeGolier) Leverenz, 72, of Dunkirk, passed away Thursday evening, April 17, 2025 at the Absolut Care of Dunkirk. Born in Dunkirk on Oct. 10, 1952, daughter of the late Roy T. DeGolier, Jr. and Edna (Galafaro) DeGolier.
Darlene was a proud graduate of Dunkirk High School, class of 1971. Her journey into the working world led her to become the owner/operator of Tick Tock Towing & Recovery in Silver Creek. For many years, she dedicated herself to this business, becoming a respected presence in the community and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Family was at the core of Darlene’s life; she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her passion for cooking brought everyone together, as she delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings and celebrations.
In her leisure time, Darlene found pleasure in various hobbies and interests. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed crocheting, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Additionally, she had a fondness for listening to Elvis.
Darlene is survived by her children Aimee Zawisa and John Velzy; siblings Roy T. (Madilynn) DeGolier, III, and Ronald (Allison) DeGolier. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded by her former spouses Paul Velzy and Mathew Leverenz and a sister, Mary Lou DeGolier.
