Denise Gage
1956-2025
Denise Gage, 68, of Dunkirk died at Brooks Memorial Hospital after an almost four-year long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born on Dec. 24, 1956 in Silver Creek, NY to Florence Gage and the late Milton Gage.
Denise was retired from the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after dedicating 25 years to helping patients as a nursing aide. She loved cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and when they weren’t playing you could find her cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles alongside her son-in-law.
She had a passion for reading. Her greatest joys were found in the pages of a beloved book, the fresh air of nature, and going for her walks. Denise absolutely adored her grandchildren. She was the best “Glamma.” Nothing brightened her day more than their laughter and she treasured every single moment spent with them. She is survived by her daughter Emily (Cody) Eggleston and her grandchildren Emmet and Gemma Eggleston, Boston Studley and Avalynn Winchell.
She is predeceased in death by her husband Edward Rak and partner Bruce Neal.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 10 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple St., Fredonia, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dunkirk Public Library in her memory, as she was a lifelong lover of books. Online condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com. Arrangements by David J. Dengler, LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home.
