Marcia A. Zmuda

Marcia A. Zmuda

Marcia A. (Wheaton) Zmuda, 78, born on March 15, 1947, at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, New York, and a longtime resident of Dunkirk, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Chautauqua County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Marcia grew up in Kenmore, New York, and graduated from Kenmore West High School. She spent most of her career as a dedicated property manager and also worked at Catholic Charities, extending her care and compassion through her professional life as well.

Above all, Marcia will be remembered for her generous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering desire to help others. She was deeply caring, always ready to lend a hand, and gave her love freely to everyone lucky enough to know her.

Marcia was the loving mother of four children, Christine (Zmuda) Seibert, the late Deborah (Zmuda) Smith, John Zmuda Jr. and his wife Alicia, and Barbara (Zmuda) Koba. She was devoted to her family and carried the memory of her daughter Deborah with her always.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Seibert) Peters (husband Timothy), Dr. Shaun Zmuda (wife Dr. Charlene Pan), Adam Seibert (wife Brittany), and Alisa Seibert (engaged to Eli Derby); her cherished great-grandchild, Adam Jr., and one great great-grandchild on the way. Marcia adored her grandchildren and was deeply involved in their lives. Her close and loving relationships with them were a constant source of joy and meaning.

Marcia was a truly unique and caring soul. She found joy in music, in tending to her beloved “plant room,” and especially in cooking and hosting large family gatherings that brought everyone together with love and laughter. She loved spending time with her girlfriends and looked forward to senior luncheons, where she enjoyed companionship, conversation, and laughter. Her deep Christian faith was central to her life-she was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Church, where she worshipped, volunteered, and found strength in community and service.

She was the best mom-creative, loving, and full of life. She shared countless adventures and special moments with her family, often referring to their memorable outings and spontaneous fun as “our hijinks.” Those cherished memories will live on forever in the hearts of her children and grandchildren

Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave. in Fredonia, New York, from 3 pm-5:30 pm, followed by a blessing led by her priest, Father Bob Owczarczak, of Holy Trinity Church, at 5:30 p.m. On-line condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com.
