Miguel A. Alvalle Sr.
Miguel A. Alvalle Sr., 78, of Dunkirk, NY, since 1986, passed away peacefully at his home on May 19, 2025, following a long illness. He was born on July 27, 1946, in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and abuelo who always placed family first, valued hard work, dedication, and integrity.
His joys and passions were woodcarving, fishing, camping, cooking traditional Puerto Rican food and seafood, and spending time with family. He loved watching western movies, classic car shows, and anything related to New York Yankees.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susana Alvalle, and their children, Susana “Suzie” Mendez, Miguel A. Alvalle Jr. (Amanda) of Mooresville, NC, Angelica M. Woods (Michael) of Buffalo, NY, Julio M. Alvalle (Andrea Proper) of Orchard Park, NY, Marcos J. Alvalle (Erin) of Daytona Beach, FL, Waleska A. Binko (Randy), of Hampstead, NC.; his grandchildren, Antimony and Amethyst Alvalle, Catherine Woods, Cayden Alvalle, Harrison and Sebastian Binko, his siblings; Nancy (Jesus) Pinero of FL, Angel “Gelo” Alvalle of PR; and Miguel “Junior” (Sullyvette) Ambert of PR and his many nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his parents, Angelina Torres Alvalle and Julio Alvalle Ortiz, and Jose “Cheo” Vargas; his siblings, Roy Alvalle Torres, Miriam Alvalle Torres, Cruz Rodriguez Alvalle, Julio “Julito” Alvalle Torres, Jose “Papo” Vargas Alvalle, Miriam “Gary” Rodriguez Vargas, and his brother-in-law, Juan Mendez.

Visitation will be at Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Fredonia, NY, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5-8 pm.
The funeral is on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, with Prayer Service at 11am at Fantauzzi’s Funeral Home with burial service directly after at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. A light luncheon with family and friends gathering to be held following the burial service from 1-3 pm at the Kozciuszko Club in Dunkirk, NY.
