Phyllis A. Newcomb
Phyllis A. Newcomb, 93, of Gowanda, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Perrysburg, NY. She was born on Dec. 27, 1931 in Gowanda, daughter of the late Howard and Edna (Denea) Jacket. Phyllis married Richard Newcomb, who predeceased her in 1986.
For 35 years, she worked as a therapy aide at JN Adam’s in Perrysburg, until her retirement. For many years she was an active member of the Armour Senior Citizens, the Perrysburg Vol. Fireman’s Auxiliary, and always loved to play bingo and bake.
Ms. Newcomb is survived by two sons, Thomas Newcomb of Perrysburg, NY and Dennis (Lynn) Newcomb of Perrysburg, NY; five grandchildren, TJ Necomb, Jennifer (Jim) Guthrie, Kim Cornell, Karin Cornell, and Heidi (Leif) Twoguns, as well as eight great-grandchildren, Sofia, Leo, Alicia (Jeremy), Emily, Lindsey, Kiva, Aysen, and Jaylen. Also surviving are three beloved great-great grandchildren, Jeremy, Lola, and Riley, as well as several nieces, and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Phyllis is predeceased by a sister, Ruth Ivett, and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Newcomb.
Friends may call on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4-7 pm from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St. in Gowanda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11 am from the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Perrysburg Cemetery.
