Steve Dillon

Steve Dillon, 52, passed away at home in Duanesburg, New York, from a heart attack, on Feb. 10, 2025.

He was born on March 7, 1972, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, the son of James and Barbara Dillon. Steve graduated from Fredonia High School in June 1990 and went on to attend Edinboro University from 1990 to 1992. In 1997, he studied metallographic interpretation at ASM International Materials Park in Ohio. He later created online programs as part of his work in Schenectady.

From 1992 to 1994, Steve worked at the Westfield Health Center in Westfield, NY, as a certified nursing assistant, providing compassionate care to elderly patients. He later joined Altech, where he worked alongside his lifelong friend, Steve Lilly. Steve eventually found his calling at GE, where he served as a robotic programmer on turbine engines for over two decades.

Steve had many friends and was deeply loved by all who knew him. He was known for his sense of humor, patience, and willingness to help anyone in need. Those close to him often speak of his generosity and kind spirit.

He is preceded in death by his loving father, Jim, and is now reunited with him, as well as with his grandparents on both sides of the family. Steve is survived by his daughter, Hannah; his siblings Cindy (John) Wilcox, Jim (Diane) Dillon, and Michelle (Dan) Lynden; and by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. For 17 years, he and Trish Patrone lovingly raised Kalie and Colin Patrone, who remained dear to him throughout his life.

Steve will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A celebration of his life will be held on June 8, 2025, at 64 On The Rocks in Fredonia, NY. (Time to be determined.)
