William R. Newman

Bill was born in Erie, Pa., on August 30, 1953, to the late James and Doris (Slater) Newman. He had a passion for cooking and baking, pies, cookies and especially his many sweet breads which he shared generously to all his family and friends. An avid Bills Mafia fan, he enjoyed the thrill of watching the games with his children and a big pot of sloppy joe.

He touched many lives with his kindness and sense of humor, always there to lend a hand for anyone in need. His dog “Otto” was his constant companion.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Alesia (Ben) Farnham and his “little buddy” grandson Logan. He is also survived by his brothers Robert and Joseph Newman and sisters Janice Senn and Mary Ann (David) Cambra.

Beside his parents, he was sadly predeceased by his son, William “Billy” Newman in 2022, and his brother James C. Newman.

Relatives and friends may visit Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a private interment in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
