Mary A. Clark, 81, of Gowanda, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at Hospice Buffalo. She was born on June 24, 1943 in Gowanda, daughter of the late Olaf ad Ada (Mathewson) Carlson. She married Richard Clark, who survives. For many years, Mary worked for the Tri County Hospital in Gowanda as well as head payroll clerk at Gowanda Psychiatric Center, and then the WNYDDSO.
Mary was a member of the Collins Fireman’s Auxiliary and had served 8 years as a Town of Collins Councilwoman. For decades she was the chairperson for the Gowanda Area Federal Credit Union. She was also a proud owner of Misty Ridge Carriage Services.
Besides her loving husband, Mrs. Clark is survived by two sons; William Clark of Gowanda and Robert (Kelly) Clark of Gowanda, as well as a daughter of Dawn (Phillip) Spires of Gowanda. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Madison, Andrew, Benjamin (Courtney), Cash, Morgan, and Alexandria, as well as two nieces, Tori and Kristi.
Besides her parents, Mary is predeceased by a brother, Paul Carlson.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date to be announced.
