Patricia Ardillo, 83 of Fredonia, passed away peacefully, on June 2, surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 29, 1941 to Charles and Gertrude (St. George) Pagano, in Dunkirk.
Patty was a dedicated early-childhood instructor for 30 years at Forestville Elementary School. Over the years, she was thrilled to see former students and reminisce about their time in the classroom. Mrs. Ardillo had a great memory for names and details. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of Holy Trinity and St. Anthony’s parishes. She lived her faith deeply and was a woman of quiet strength and enduring grace. For many years she taught faith formation classes and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Patricia was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert (Bob) Ardillo whom she married on June 4, 1965. Patty and Bob enjoyed traveling and loved spending their winters in Florida, although her greatest joy was her family and cherished gatherings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her role as Nana kept her busy attending many years of sporting events as the proudest cheerleader rooting from the sidelines.
Patricia leaves behind her two beloved daughters Eileen Ardillo (Dan Rybij) and Kathleen Siragusa. She is survived by her cherished grandchildren Brittany Dunn (Ryan Klemens), Latham Dunn, Matthew Siragusa (fiance Emily Langton), Daniel Siragusa, two great-grandsons Ronnie and Noah, her dear sister, Mary Jane (Donald) Burgoon and her extended family including sisters-in-law, many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, Patty is predeceased by her husband, Robert (Dec. 13, 2024), infant son, Joseph Jude, her sister, Rita Augello, son in law, Paul Siragusa and nephew, Dennis Ardillo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7 at 11 am at Holy Trinity Church, in Dunkirk. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Fredonia Fire Department, 80 W. Main St. Fredonia or the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, 212 Lakeshore Dr. West Dunkirk. A Celebration of Life for Patty and Bob will be held on Aug. 2, 2025.
