Patricia J. (Draves) Sullivan, 82, of Dunkirk, passed away Tuesday morning, May 6, 2025 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk. Born on September 23, 1942, wife of the late Richard D. Sullivan and daughter of the late Francis and Shirley (Skrzypek) Draves.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Patricia graduated from Cardinal Mindzenty High School. Patricia was a beacon of happiness to all who knew her. She found immense joy in the roles of mother and grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her grandchildren.
A talented baker, Patricia was especially known for her delicious apple pie, which became a favorite among family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aromas of her cooking, as she loved to prepare meals for those she cared about. In addition to baking and cooking, Patricia had a creative side that came alive through her drawing, which she pursued with passion.
One of her proudest accomplishments was her annual participation in the Lake Shore Humane Society Garage Sale; her delicious pies and breads brought smiles to many and it was a highlight of the event every year. Attendees lovingly referred to it as, “Pat’s Bake Sale”.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Joseph (Abby) Sullivan and Jill (Brian) Madurski; grandchildren Alex Madurski, Gracen and Kinsley Sullivan, and a sister Virginia (late Richard) Haldberg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard D. Sullivan, who passed away October 24, 2024; siblings Marcia Mackowiak, Shirley Wasmund, and Carol Glod.

There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Church of St. Hyacinth. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 E. Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY. Interment in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery Columbarium.
