Robert (Bob) W. Rhinehart, 91 of Englewood, Florida passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, June 9, 2025 in Venice, Florida. Bob was born in Dunkirk, New York on Aug. 28, 1933 to the late Guy and Marian Rhinehart.
He was a proud Navy Veteran who enlisted right out of High School. He was a Boatswain’s Mate who served with honor and distinction during the Korean War in the early 1950’s.
After the Navy, he always held multiple jobs at once. He found work in Cleveland, Ohio as an Iron Worker. Returning to West New York, he worked for Alleghany Ludlum Steele Plant in Dunkirk, New York. He drove truck for Bates Furniture Store for many years; he was a well respected carpet installer throughout Chautauqua County. He ran Rhinehart Carpet Installation. He also installed carpets for Pucci’s and other local carpet stores. He could often be found working alongside his beloved brother Guy (Junior).
Over the years he loved fishing, watching local softball games, a good poker game, attending the horse races and trips to the beach with Gloria, sharing breakfast with pets Abby and Noa, and was known as “king of the one liners”.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Gloria Rhinehart of Englewood, Florida; his son: Mark Rhinehart and his wife Janine of Westfield, New York; his daughters: Sherry Rhinehart Steger of Fredonia, New York, Barbara Rhinehart and her wife Dana of Sevierville, Tennessee; his stepdaughters: Kimberly Gooch of Englewood, Florida , and Brenda Gooch Vanderpol of Saint Cloud, Florida; Bob is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and was Uncle Bob to many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Guy and Marian Rhinehart, his oldest son: Robert James Rhinehart; an infant daughter: Susan Ann Rhinehart; his son-in-law Mark P. Steger; his brother: Guy Rhinehart; his sisters: Virginia LeVeck and Nancy Eagan.
Bob will be remembered by the unconditional love he had for his family.
Bob will be laid to rest at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Route 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241 where he will be accorded Military Honors by the United States Navy.
