David L. Smith Sr.
David L. Smith Sr., 77, of Forestville, died Saturday, July 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Pottstown, PA on Sept. 20, 1947, the son of the late Peter and Carrie (Hahn) Smith. David worked as a Depalletizer for the former Cliffstar Corporation in Dunkirk until May 2015, when he retired and he previously worked for the former Alumax Extrusions until it closed in Nov. 1993. David enjoyed fireworks, watching hummingbirds and was a very hard worker.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilyn (Martell) Smith of Forestville, whom he married on Oct. 11, 1969 in Boyertown, PA, two sons, David (Brenda) Smith, Jr., and Steven (Julie) Smith both of Dunkirk, a daughter Theresa (Juan) Salgado, of Fredonia, and a brother Peter (Jean) Smith, of Boyertown, PA. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; Jessica (Brian) Pope, Bill Wagner, Justin Wagner, Andrew (Dakota) Wagner, Carrie (Chris) Larsen, Mickayla Smith, Hannah (Seamus) Raynor, Olivia Smith, Greg Orcutt, Jr., Joshua Smith, Christopher, Anastacia, Talea and Cortana Salgado, ten great grandchildren; Helen, Bryan, Alyssa, Huntur, Charlotte, Scarlett, Alexander, Benjamin, Ivan, Thea and several nieces & nephews.
