Edward M. Gallivan
Edward M. Gallivan of Silver Creek, N.Y. passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Edward was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 24, 1940 to the late Cornelius and Francis (Leonard) Gallivan.
In life, Edward worked at General Mills, Bethlehem Steel, and Buffalo Floor Sanding. Edward opened and successfully operated Gallivan Floor Sanding until his retirement. He had many employees, and was known for his kindness and generosity- quietly helping people, and seeking no recognition.
Edward loved his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and had a deep appreciation for all types of music especially ballads.
Edward is survived by his wife Kathleen (Bogold) Gallivan, and his four sons: Edward (Lisa) Gallivan, Daniel (Pattie) Gallivan, Jeffrey Gallivan (who thankfully was his father’s primary caregiver for several years), and Aaron (Lori) Gallivan, and one brother Paul (Rosalie) Gallivan.
His is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many surviving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Edward is predeceased by his brothers: Cornelius Gallivan, George Gallivan, Dennis Gallivan, Norm Gallivan, James Gallivan, and his sister Grace (Gallivan) Rott. He is also predeceased by his great- grandson Maximus Gallivan.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Edward’s life will take place at a later date.
