Joseph J. Skubis Sr., 78, of Dunkirk, passed away suddenly Aug. 20, 2025 at home. Born in Dunkirk on Oct. 25, 1946, husband of Marie (Willis) Skubis and son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Wilemski) Skubis. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 from 10-1 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY. Prayer services will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be held privately in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. A complete obituary will be published in this weekend’s edition of the Dunkirk Observer.
