Mary Gibbon

Mary E. Gibbon, 63, of Dunkirk, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Dunkirk on November 24, 1961, the daughter of the late Richard and Jean (Michalski) Fijal. Mary was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1980 and worked as a Bar Manager for the former Lake Shore Marine Club in Sheridan for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and was a huge Garth Brooks fan. Survivors include husband Edwin V. Gibbon, III, of Dunkirk, whom she married on November 26, 2010 in the Town of Sheridan, a son Nickolas Szopinski, of Dunkirk, two stepchildren Edwin (Jessica) Gibbon, IV, of Lakewood, Dakota Gibbon, of Cassadaga, a sister Katherine (Larry) Willson, of Fredonia, and a brother David (Lynn) Fijal, of Dunkirk. Also surviving are three stepgrandchildren; Edwin V, Reede & Prentiss and several nieces & nephews. There will be no services observed at this time.
