Denver L. Drennen, Sr.

Denver Lee Drennen, Sr., age 82, of Brocton, NY, passed away on Friday Sept. 5, 2025.

Born on August 9, 1943, in Beckley, WV. Denver was the son of the late Camden Leo Drennen and Irene Martin Drennen.

In 1960, Denver enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country both actively and as a reservist for six years. His service took him overseas to Germany where he served in the 93rd Engineering Company. Upon his return from military service Denver soon met his wife Sandra and began a long career in mining and underground construction.

Denver enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild to whom he was affectionately known as G-pa. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR racing, spent hours woodworking in his shop, and enjoyed reading about a variety of topics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Doris Winston and Linda Smith and by his brothers Elmer and Lawrence Drennen.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Sandra Y. (Berry) Drennen, whom he loved dearly, and his children, Danette Drennen, Paula (Michael) Drennen, Denver (Lynn) Drennen, Jr., Camden (Van) Drennen, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
