Edwin (Bud) Hartwin Irwin Jr. died on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025 , at Heritage Village, Gerry, New York, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on Oct. 7, 1937, the son of Edwin Sr. and Ruth (Isham) Irwin, and grew up in Barcelona. He graduated from Westfield Academy in 1955 and enlisted in the US Navy, remaining on active duty for four years. Bud’s tours took him to many European and Mediterranean ports including Spain, France, and Turkey.
After his discharge, Bud attended an auto body trade school in Chicago, and worked at various garages, and opened his own shop in Barcelona, before attending Bryant & Stratton Business College in Buffalo to study accounting. He moved to Florida and worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital before starting his own accounting business, which he ran for over 30 years. After retirement, Bud moved to Acworth, GA, and worked at Advanced Auto Parts store. He moved back to Western New York in 2019. Bud enjoyed photography, World War II history, playing tennis, swimming, and fishing. He is survived by his brother Richard of Barcelona, nephew Jason (Jennifer Ashburn) of Pittsburgh and several cousins. Arrangements entrusted to Morse Funeral Home Brocton, NY.
