Karen F. (Perdue) Leach
Karen F. (Perdue) Leach, 73, of Fredonia, NY, passed Monday Sept. 8, 2025 at her home. Karen was born July 4, 1952, in Westfield, NY, daughter of Melvin Leigh Perdue and Alice Frances Perdue. On June 17, 1972, Karen married her husband, Wilson H. Wilson Sr, who died Oct. 27, 2014. The couple was married 42 years at the time of his passing. Karen and Wilson raised their family in the Village of Westfield. A kind and loving woman, Karen operated a home day care in her Village of Westfield home, where she provided a second home for the Welch Field kids.
She is survived by her children: Wilson “Bill” H. Leach, Jr. (Jen) of Fairport, NY,
Leigh Anne Leach Swoger, of North East, PA , Brandon Leach (Kim), of Fredonia, NY; also her “Adopted son,” Jason Politio of Medford, NJ; her great grandchildren: Alexandra Leach, Kalishia Bemis and Elizabeth Swoger; Catherine Palmer, Amber Campaign, Brittany Haskins (Rob), her great-grandchildren: Scarlett Elaine Bemis, Lillian Mae Hebner, Evelyn Harper Stinson, Londyn Wilmot, Hudson Haney, Parker Haskins, and Paisley Haskins; her sister, Cheryle Hannum (Dave) of Albuquerque, NM.
Besides her parents, Melvin and Alice Purdue, her husband, Wilson H. Leach, Sr., Karen is predeceased by her granddaughter, Christin Tibbetts.
Memorial contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
