William F. Kubera, 91 , of Dunkirk, NY passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2025. He is now joyfully reunited with his beloved wife Marcia, who preceded him in death in 2023. He was born on Aug. 1st, 1934 to Emily (Kaus) and Walter Kubera in Dunkirk, NY.
His most cherished moments were when he was surrounded by family and friends enjoying his favorite beverage. He always said “In Heaven there is no beer, that’s why we drink it here”.
Loving father of Mandy Kubera, Amy (Matt) Kromer, and Eric (Dawn) Kubera. Devoted patriarch to Joe Pantaleo, Jason Bores (his Best Buddy), and others. Cherished grandfather of Mallory, Katie, Joseph, Kelly, Owen, Jordan, and Nathan. Brother to Gloria (Hank) Stolinski, Fritz (Madeline), James (Clara), Richard, Carol (Dick) Grace, Tom (Ellen), and a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He served in the Navy Reserves. He Graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School, was a long time member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, First Ward Falcon Club, Moniuszko Social Club, and proud volunteer firefighter for several years
He was an integral part of the Dunkirk community from the store he owned and his dedication to the church, to his family room bar where he hosted countless gatherings that brought people together. He and Marcia created a space where everyone was welcomed and loved like family.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be held in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
