Anthony V. Trippi

Anthony V. Trippi, 85, of Dunkirk died Saturday morning Nov. 22, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1940 in Dunkirk, the son of Joseph and Frances (Bonvisuto) Trippi.

A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Anthony “Tony” was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, proudly served in the US Army and was employed by Al Tech Specialty Steel in Dunkirk. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his youth and later in life he enjoyed sitting outside watching wildlife or just sitting in the warmth of the sun.

More than anything, Anthony was defined by his love for his family. He was an unwavering protector and rock, a defender always ready to support with his insightful guidance. Family was very important to him and he will be terribly missed by all who relied on his protective presence.

Anthony was preceded by and reunited with his wife of 54 years, Judith (Stupcy) Trippi and survived by four children: Michael (Kim Cahill) Trippi of Pittsford, Cheryl (Jon) Nichy of Orchard Park; Joseph (Deni) Trippi of Fredonia; and Kathleen (Patrick) Jones of Dunkirk; 11 grandchildren: Olivia (Matthew), Joseph, Julie, Matthew, Steven, Alyssa, Alex, Nick, Bradley plus Jillian and Ty; two great-granddaughters, Amarra and Georgiana. Also survived and loved by sisters, Mary (late Robert) Dunbar, Carmella (late William) Tuttle; brother, Vincent (Sue) Trippi; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY
