Audrey K. Parkhurst

Audrey K. Parkhurst

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Audrey.

Audrey Kaye ( Moyer) Parkhurst, daughter of Roger Ralph Moyer and Marilyn Frances Brown was born in Utica, New York on July 24, 1951. Baptized a Methodist in Vernon, NY she joined the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, confessed her faith in the rite of Confirmation on May 11, 2025, and was admitted to the altar to receive the medicine of immortality, Christ’s life-giving body and blood.

Audrey was joined together in holy matrimony to Roger Allen Parkhurst, Jr. on August 21, 1976. On Oct. 21st, 2025, Audrey, at the age of 74 years, fell asleep in Jesus. She is survived by her husband, Roger Parkhurst, her son, Aaron (Kristen) Parkhurst, her daughter, Lindsey (Paul) Egeler, her grandchildren, Samantha, Brooklyn, and Charlotte Parkhurst as well as Theodore and Hendrika Egeler, her sister, Darla (Edgar) Peck, and her brother, Mark Moyer. Audrey is predeceased by her parents, and brother, Dana Moyer. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.

Audrey was a 1969 graduate of Waterville Central School and a 1973 graduate of SUNY Oswego with a degree in Elementary Education. Her pride and joy was the raising of her children and grandchildren. She also excelled and was known throughout community and family activities for her cooking creations. Audrey loved to sing, a skill which she inherited from her father and which she instilled in her family. She was an active church member despite all the family’s moves.

Audrey’s high energy and optimistic attitude, even as she faced cancer, made her a joy to be around. Her friends and family loved to hear her stories, work with, learn from, partake in make-believe, go on adventures, or have coffee on the front porch!

She will be missed by many but never forgotten through the sharing of our memories. I for one will miss her.

Services for Audrey Parkhurst will be held sometime in the spring of 2026. She will be buried at the Rome Cemetery, on Jervis Road, in Rome, NY following the funeral.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Audrey.
