Carol A. Leonard

Carol A. Leonard, 92, of Collins passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born on May 3, 1933 in Buffalo, daughter of the late Robert (Dorothy) Geick. On Nov. 24, 1951, she married Howard A. Leonard, who predeceased her on Jan. 24, 1975.

After over 20 years, Carol retired from the Town of Collins after serving as its town clerk. For over 65 years she was a member of the Collins Vol. Fire. Co. Auxiliary and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda. Carol also enjoyed bowling and was active at K&L Lanes for over 65 years.

Carol is survived by a son, Bob (Cathy) Leonard of Pittsford, NY, and a daughter, Karen (Dana) Perrigo of Black Creek, NY, as well as a granddaughter, Jillian (Joe) Pleakis and a great-grandson, Grant Perrigo, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carol’s family would like to give special thank you to the many friends in Collins, especially Mill Street, and Gowanda for the many acts of kindness and love you gave Carol through the years. You were her lifeblood! She loved all of you!

Besides her husband and parents, Carol is predeceased by a brother, Robert Geick Jr., and a longtime friend, Howard Witt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 at 11 am from St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Collins Vol. Fire Co. or St. Joseph’s RC Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E Main St. in Gowanda.
