D. Alan Pracht

Born in Waltham, Mass on Dec. 6, 1955 the son of Deane A. And Nettie (McAlpline) Pracht.

He graduated from Gowanda Central School, class of 1974. Alan was an electrician and maintenance worker specializing in refrigeration repair, a trade passed down from his grandfather. He work at various grocery markets and corporate coffee chains throughout WNY and NYS .

Alan attended the Gowanda Free Methodist Church, he enjoyed his two girls, spending time with his grandchildren shooting pool, and bowling.

Survivors include his daughters, Carin (Andrew) Carriero of Hamburg and Cayleigh M. (Peter) Pracht of Cairo , Egypt; grandchildren, Brody and Beck Carriero, Elora Atef and a baby girl Carriero due in March of 2026. Alan is also survived by his brother, Daryl Pracht of Gowanda. Alan has an extended family in Mississippi a place he had fond memories of growing up and where he will be laid to rest .

A Celebration of Life at the Gowanda Free Methodist Church ; 149 West Main St. will be held Saturday Nov. 29, 2025 @ 11 am ( please assemble at church) . Rev. Simon Knighten will officiate.

Arrangements are by the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St . Gowanda.
