Eugene Wayne Levandoski
Eugene Wayne Levandoski, affectionately known as “Gene,” of Dunkirk, New York, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 82.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Gene was born to Al and Stella Levandoski. He graduated from Dunkirk’s Industrial High School and proudly served his country as an Army Veteran. A man of deep faith, Gene was a devoted member of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church where he served as an Usher for many years.
After retiring from Ralston Purina, he pursued his true passion: restoring classic cars, with a special love for his 1938 Buicks and early 1970s Chevy Trucks. He delighted in classic movies, working on old cars, trucks, and beefy motors. Gene also cherished maintaining his property and annual camping trips with his family at Allegany State Park.
His compassion extended to all animals, especially cats, which he adored throughout his life. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Al and Stella Levandoski. He is survived by his brother, Roger (Debbie) Levandoski; his children, Jason (Katherine) Levandoski, Eric (Claire) Levandoski, and Sara Levandoski (Jorge); and his grandchildren, Grace Agnello and Aiden Levandoski.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, NY. Prayer services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Military Honors immediately following. Interment will be held in private.
