John G. Sherwood

John G. Sherwood

John Gregory “Greg” Sherwood passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Buffalo, NY, Greg grew up with the Bills in his blood and music in his soul (he was, after all, at the original Woodstock and yes, he had the stories to prove it). He built a beautiful life in Forestville, NY, where he and his wife Marcia raised their family and where his craftsmanship in the tile industry left its mark on countless homes and hearts. He eventually joined Laticrete International, Inc., where his work ethic and fun personality earned him lasting friendships before retiring in 2014.

Retirement in Stuart, Florida suited him perfectly, warm weather, good golf, and even better company. Greg never knew a stranger, he could strike up a conversation anywhere, with anyone, and somehow remember every detail about them years later. He loved teeing off early, catching the Bills game (no matter how stressful), and sharing a drink and a story, or three, with friends who became family.

Above all, Greg adored his family. He was the most loving husband to Marcia, the proud dad of Neal (Janelle), Erin, and Kelsey, and the world’s best PopPop to Bryson and Sloane. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Cindy) and Jeff (Lisa); and sister-in-law, Maureen Ruddy, along with many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends who will never forget his laugh, his loyalty, and his larger-than-life presence.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Treasure Coast Hospice for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
