Judith Ann Norton
Judith Ann Norton
Judith Ann Norton (Till), 88, of Fredonia, NY, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Judy was born on July 8, 1937, in Bradford, PA, to Sophie and LP Smith. She graduated high school in 1956 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Paul Till. They shared many years together raising their five children. Even though their marriage eventually ended, they remained dear friends.
Judy spent many years in Arizona with several of her children before returning to New York in 1992. She made her home in Fredonia, where her family lovingly nicknamed her Grandma Zona, a title she cherished.
Judy took great joy in cooking for her children and always prepared something special for the “picky eaters.” She spoiled her family at Christmastime with an abundance of gifts, treats, and love. She was passionate about her rose garden in her younger years, was an avid reader, and rarely missed a crossword puzzle.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Judy had a remarkable way of making each of her children feel loved in their own unique way, and each carries cherished memories of her warmth. That same love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply. She was loving, adventurous, and full of feisty spirit–a good one to have in your corner, because she always had your back no matter what.
Judy is survived by her children: Paul (Karen) Till of Buckeye, AZ; Mimi Till of Dunkirk, NY; Rick Till of Fredonia, NY; Sue (Dan) Corsi of Fredonia, NY; and Mike (Denene) Till of Queen Creek, AZ. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jerad, Danielle, and Hannah; Michael and Joey; Judy Ann, Laura, and Samantha; and Shelby and Shane; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, and many nieces and nephews. Her cherished nephew, Tex (Kendall) Colton, also survives her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sophie and LP Smith, and by her siblings, Janet, Bill, Earl, Mary, and Dick.
In keeping with her final wishes, Judy generously donated her body to the University at Buffalo for medical research. There will be no services at this time. Donations may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care in Judy’s memory.
Judy’s warmth, compassion, and spirited personality will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
