Michael Thomas Maurer

He was born April 18, 1957 in Buffalo New York to Eugene and Dorene (Durkin) Maurer.

Michael graduated from Maryvale Central Schools and went on to get his BSN degree in nursing starting at JCC and finishing up at Daemen College in Amherst NY.

His career including painting for his father at Action Painting, Construction Work, Oil and Gas Drilling for Ramco Drilling, operating laiths and mills making brake parts and finally went back to school and became a Registered Nurse working for the VA in Buffalo, Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk and Westfield Hospital in Westfield, NY.

Michael enjoyed Horseback riding, camping, canoeing and spending time with Family and Friends.

He is survived by his partner, Laurie Chapman; his parents, Eugene and Dorene Maurer; his siblings, Sharon (Jerome) Groff, Melinda Maurer, Robert Maurer, Suzanne (Paul) Willard and Daniel (Amy) Maurer; his friend that was like a son, William (Billy) Jackson, also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may visit Morse Funeral Home 19 East Main Street, Brocton, NY Wednesday Nov. 12, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025 11 AM at St Dominic’s Church in Westfield NY. (Please assemble at church)
