Patricia M. Lazarczyk
								Patricia M. Lazarczyk
Patricia M. Lazarczyk, 76, passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025 from Lymphoma. Born July 9, 1949 in Dunkirk, she was the daughter of the late William and Olga (Wyzykowski) Lazarczyk. She is survived by her brother, Larry, niece, Karen and nephew, Robert (Amy). In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister -in- law, Roberta.
Pat graduated from Dunkirk High School and then earned her teaching degree from the State University of NY at Fredonia. During her 37- year career at Silver Creek Central School teaching her favorite aged children in grades K-3, she became one of the organizers of the Parent Teacher Organization. She also served in several offices in Silver Creek Teaches’ Association. After she retired, she served as an election inspector in Sheridan, NY. Pat also got the ideal retirement job she had always talked about in the faculty room. She was hired by Yerico Farms to work as a cashier at their farm stand where she enjoyed talking with tourists and not having to make lesson plans or correct papers anymore.
Pat’s true blessing was her church family at Trinity Lutheran Church in Silver Creek. They always seemed to find interesting projects for her to work on. Over the many years, she served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher, the newsletter editor, Church Council Recording Secretary, and Ladies Guild Secretary and chairman of numerous events. But her greatest joy was organizing and decorating the tables for the many dinners, meetings and special occasions held at her church. There were never any plain white napkins at any of her tables! She was also proud of the fact that she was able to touch the cross at the top of the bell tower when the church was being painted! (and, no, it is not her fault that the cross is crooked.)
Pat was often bitten by the traveling bug which led to visits to many interesting places. But her favorite spot for semi-annual trips was Las Vegas.
After living 47 years at her cottage on the lake of Sheridan, she decided to move back to her hometown where she was able to enjoy the benefits of living closer to her cousin Cindy Zolnoske of Dunkirk and numerous Tim Horton Coffee Shops courtesy of gift certificates from her cousin Christine Smith of Kenmore, NY.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church; 15 Porter Ave., Silver Creek, NY. Interment will be held in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
