Betty J. Vantino, 100, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025 at the Gowanda Nursing Home. She was born on Nov. 10, 1925 in Salamanca, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Pinto) Sylvester. On July 25, 1964, she married Michael Vantino who predeceased her on Aug. 25, 2011.
Betty was a devoted Catholic as a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda and SS. Peter and Paul RC Church in Hamburg. For 20 years, she served as St. Joseph’s secretary and was active in their altar and rosary society.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty is predeceased by a daughter, Mary Frances Vantino and a brother, Joseph Sylvester.
She is survived by a loving family, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda.
