David M. Pulvino
David M. Pulvino
David Michael Pulvino, age 66, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away on Dec. 15, 2025, at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Dunkirk, David attended Dunkirk High School where he excelled in sports and was an instrumental member (as a stand-out third baseman) of two championship baseball teams before he graduated in 1978.
He spent the beginnings of his working career at Kraft Foods in Dunkirk. Then pulled up stakes and moved to North Carolina where he worked as a line foreman for General Tire. He later found employment back in Western New York at Purina where he worked diligently to keep the machinery running smoothly, and later retired from there in 2023.
David had a deep love for sports cars, classic rock ‘n’ roll music, gardening, and cooking his mother’s tried and true recipes. He cherished family gatherings around the kitchen table, where he shared in delicious meals, fond memories, and lots of laughter. A devoted animal lover, he raised two dogs from puppies and later adopted his sister’s cat, Kashmir, caring for it until its passing.
Known for his tender heart, and generous, caring nature, David was a loyal friend who valued independence and never chose to burden others with his problems. He enjoyed discussing music with his siblings and attended numerous concerts with them over the years.
David is survived by his brother, Roy D. Pulvino Jr., and sister-in-law, Diloylo Pulvino. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy D. Pulvino Sr. and Jean M. Pulvino (DePasquale); his sister, Stephanie A. Pulvino; and his brother, Jeffrey M. Pulvino.
Graveside services will be held among the family and friends at St. Anthony’s Cemetery on Dec. 29 at 12:30 pm. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY.
