Elaine M. Parker

Elaine had attended Fredonia High School and LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia, NY. In earlier years, Elaine worked in food service at SUNY Fredonia and as a cafeteria worker at Westfield Academy and Central School, where she devoted 20 years of service. She later retired to take care of and spend time with her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply.

Elaine belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield and the Westfield Moose. She enjoyed baking, making candies and cheesecakes, listening to jazz music, doing word finds, going to social events and on vacations – especially going on cruises. Above all, she loved children and babysitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Walter H. Parker, whom she married on July 21, 1979; two daughters, Karen (Matt) Swank of Westfield, NY, and Margaret (Tim) Funderburk of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Avery, Audrey, and Jackson Swank, and Bryce Funderburk; two siblings, Mary Grygier and David Strada; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Strada.

A private service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield. All are welcome to attend a gathering in memory of Elaine at Brazill’s On Main on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 12 until 2 p.m.
