Frances Q. Pratt
Frances Q. Pratt passed away on Jan. 13, 2026 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Erie, PA Born March 29, 1947 in Westfield, NY. He was the son of the late Norman and Sara (McQuaig) Pratt, and educated in the Sherman School System class of ’65. He was a proud member of The United States Marine Corps from 1966 through 1971. Later, he returned to Sherman with his late wife of thirty-three years, Vicky Lee (Clark) Pratt, who passed in 2009. He was a dedicated employee of the Van De Camp corporation in Erie, PA for over twenty years, working in refrigeration. Norman was very active in the local American Legion Posts in Sherman, Clymer, and Ripley, NY. Through the Legion, he coordinated the area Boy’s State and Girl’s State organizations, as well as the Future Business Leaders of America, shaping our local youth to become the leaders of tomorrow. Frank enjoyed his family, traveling, cars, trucks, tractors, politics, genealogy as well as philanthropy. He was outspoken, known for his patriotic spirit and “Don’t Tread On Me.” attitude. He was a member of the local S.C.O.P.E. organization promoting and educating the public on our Second Amendment rights.
Frank was preceded in death by two infant sons, Timothy Jay, and Anthony Curtis Pratt; his sister, Susan Broeme; infant grandson, Benjamin Adam Gard; and parents-in-law, Edwin and Elsie Clark. He is survived by his long-time companion, Aleane Maring of Sherman, NY; her daughter, Danielle (Jeremy) Webster, of Erie, PA; his children, Ryan Pratt of Jamestown, NY; Violet (David) Gard of Ripley, NY; Christopher (Samantha) Pratt of Lima, Ohio; nephew, Jeremy Broeme; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, and David Gard; Roxanne Marie Paige Rose; Christopher Jr., Kaylee, Nathan, Nicolas, and Penelope Pratt; and Henry and Wren Webster.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 19th 2026. Friends and family may call from 3-5 pm at BOWERS FUNERAL HOME, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA. Interment will be at Mina, NY, at later date. A Celebration of life dinner will be held after the funeral at First Baptist Church at 9689 E. Side Hill Road., Ripley, NY. Arrangements have been made by the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME, 82 E. Main St., Fredonia, NY.
