Martha A. Kelley
Martha A. Kelley, born Feb. 27, 1936, in Westfield, NY, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2026, in the same town that she had called home her entire life. Martha’s journey on earth ended at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and compassion that will be remembered by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Russell and Sarah (Condello) Sanderson, her brother, Daniel Sanderson, and her son Michael Rexford.
Martha’s life was one marked by dedication to her family, her career, and her community. She is survived by her children, Evan Kelley, Kevin Kelley, Randy Kelley, and Dean Rexford; her cherished five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who filled her life with joy and purpose. Her remaining siblings, sister, Edith (late John) Brewer, and brother, Jim (late Shirley) Sanderson.
Martha attended SUNY Fredonia where she obtained her certification as a General Practical Nurse (GPN), and later, she proudly earned her EMT license. Her dedication to healthcare was evident in her work as a GPN. She also found success as a self-employed hairdresser, a cherished role she fulfilled with grace and enthusiasm for 40 years. Martha’s strong work ethic continued into her retirement years as she served the Fredonia community through her two-decade tenure at Walmart.
Martha’s sense of community spirit shone brightly through her involvement with the Portland Fire Department and as a member of the Assembly of God Church in Westfield, NY. Her interests extended to the joy she found in arts and crafts, bringing beauty into the world and the lives of those she touched.
Above all, Martha was happiest when surrounded by her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and warmth will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Relatives and friends may visit Morse Funeral Home 19 E. Main Street Brocton, NY Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM where a funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Charlie Robertson officiating.
Interment will be in Westfield Cemetery
