Mary Carol (Fedyszyn) Wright, 73, of Fredonia, NY, a 57-year cancer survivor, passed Monday Feb. 2, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. Mary was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Dunkirk, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bentley) Fedyszyn. She was raised in Dunkirk and graduated from Dunkirk schools. High and received an Associate Degree of Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Empire State College through SUNY Fredonia. She worked as a rehabilitation specialist at the Resource Center in Jamestown and Job Corps in Cassadaga. Mary enjoyed working in her garden and was a member of the Dom Polski Club in Dunkirk and the Fredonia Beaver Club.
Mary is survived by her husband, Roger A. Wright, Sr; stepchildren: Ronda (Dave) Woodarek, of South Dayton, NY, Lydia (Bob) Mathews, of Schley, GA, Roger A. Wright, Jr. (Brandie), of Dora, AL, and John Meller, of Dunkirk, NY; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren;
sisters: Sue (Swen) Hunt, of Heath, Ohio, Marcia Fedyszyn, of Dunkirk, NY, Bernedette Fedyszyn, of Texas and John (Darlene) Fedyszyn, of the Villages, FL; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, John and Elizabeth Fedyszyn, Mary is predeceased by her sister, Katie (Late Donald) Roesch.
