Theresa B. “Babe” (Serratore) Mangus, 99, of Fredonia, NY went home Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 3,1927 to Bruno and Rose (Triaga) Serratore. She was raised in Dunkirk and attended Dunkirk schools. While Theresa worked as an EKG Technician at Brooks Memorial Hospital, her main vocation in life was being a homemaker and the matriarch to a large and loving family as she had four children, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
To her family, she was known as the “Toys under the desk grandma”. She is predeceased by her husband, Chuck “Babe” Mangus. The family referred to the couple as Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire as they enjoyed dancing, especially the jitter bug. She loved her pets. Theresa enjoyed sitting in her garage on Summer Street and watching animals in her yard, especially neighborhood cats. She enjoyed bowling and game shows on television, especially The Price is Right. She was known for her homemade chicken soup and beating everyone at Yahtzee.
Theresa is survived by children, Judy (Anthony) Marino, Rodney Mangus, Charles (Peggy) Mangus and Wendy (Ernie) Thompson; grandchildren, Leslie Wille, Kimberly (Max) Alguire, Justin (Tammy) Mangus, Michael Mangus, Melissa (Jonathan) Miano, Sarah Mangus, Brian (Nicole) Thompson, David Thompson and Danny Thompson; great-grandchildren, Milo Wille, Eben Wille, Jude Wille, Mason Alguire, Nolan Alguire, Korbin Alguire, Calvin (Sam) Mangus, Maize (Isaac) Vizzerra, Izzy and Lennon Miano, Jayden Luckey, Jacob Britton, Orion and Maya Thompson; and great great- grandchild, Calliope “Caya” Mangus.
Besides her parents, Bruno and Rose (Triaga) Serratore, her husband, Chuck Mangus, Theresa is also pre-deceased by her sister, Jennie Gennuso and her brother, Anthony Serratore.
Funeral service will be private.
