Dennis J. McGraw

Dennis James McGraw, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend; Passed away March 11, 2026 at home after a short battle with cancer. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country bravely in the Vietnam War. Dennis was born in Dunkirk, NY to the late John A. and Eileen E. McGraw on June 6, 1946. He married the love of his life, Linda L. McGraw (McClean), on April 20, 1969. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary next month. It should surprise no one who knew Dennis that he specifically requested, “The shortest obituary possible.” To honor that wish:

Dennis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda L. McGraw. Children, Tracy R. McGraw, Melissa L. McGraw, and Brett A. McGraw. Four Grandchildren, Brittany (Christian) Dorn, Brad McGraw-Wixson, Noah McGraw-Wixson, and Savanna McGraw. One Great-Granddaughter, Kallie Dorn. Brother, Tim McGraw, sister, Cathy Tynan, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Funeral Services on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2-3:30 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY. Prayer services will begin at 3 p.m. with Military Honors immediately following held by the Dunkirk Joint Veteran Council. Interment will be held in private. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
