Eugene Chesbro

Gene was a proud navy veteran who served his country with honor, carrying that same sense of duty and integrity throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of Virginia, with whom he shared 73 remarkable years of marriage–a true testament to enduring love and partnership.

He was a devoted father to Bob Chesbro, Cindy (Bob) Haenszel, Steve (Linda) Chesbro, and Julie (Monty) Sticek, who will forever remember his steady guidance, kindness, and unwavering support. Gene was also a proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, finding immense joy in the lives and accomplishments of his growing family.

Gene had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He found peace and happiness in gardening, took great pride in his friendships at the Silver Creek Seniors Club, and was a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his team.

A lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Gene’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, and his parish community held a special place in his heart. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th Degree Knight.

Gene will be remembered for his warmth, his quiet strength, and his deep devotion to family, faith, and community. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene’s memory to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
