Marilyn F. (Farrell) Ferguson, 95 of Dunkirk (formerly Buffalo, NY) passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026 at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation after a lengthy battle with Dementia.
Born July 30, 1930, in Buffalo, New York, to the late John and Alice Farrell, Marilyn had a sister, Jackie (Kirkendahl), a nephew, Glenn, and a niece, Carol. Marilyn worked as a Medical Secretary for Mercy Hospital in Buffalo and as a secretary at Erie 1 BOCES at Potter Road in West Seneca.
She was married to former Buffalo Police officer, Vincent Sheehan before marrying John L. Ferguson, who predeceased her in 2005. She had one son, Fredonia Mayor, Michael J. (Dianne St. George) Ferguson of Fredonia and one stepdaughter, former Correction Officer, the late Cheryl Harding of Alden, NY. Marilyn adored her five grandchildren: Kelly (Michael) Moore of Clarence, NY; Rhonda (Brian) Baumgardner of Lexington, SC; Andrew (Chelsey) Ferguson of Brighton, MI; Lindsey (Michael) Hanson of Holland, MI; and Olivia (Nathan) Anderson of Frewsburg, NY.
She was proud of her eight great-grandchildren: Lillian and Henry Moore; Shiloh and Sheridan Baumgardner; Sage Ferguson; William and Wesley Hanson; and Charlotte Anderson. Calling hours are from 11 am-2 pm, Saturday, March 21 at LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave. in Fredonia, New York. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 2 pm, will be led by Pastor James LaBarr of Harvest Chapel in Fredonia.
