Mary Jo Lessinger
Mary Jo (Guzzetta) Lessinger, 77, of Dunkirk, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Dunkirk on Feb. 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lorraine (Leone) Guzzetta.
Mary Jo is survived by her loving sons, Frank (Melanie) Grupa, Joe (Terra) Grupa and Scott (Andrea) Grupa; grandchildren, Tory (Faith) Grupa, Trevor Grupa, Gianna Klein, Seth (Liz) Grupa, Callie Grupa, Jillian Grupa, Cody (Autumn) Grupa, Hannah (Alex) Buss, Montana Truitt and Payton Truitt; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda (late Robert) Mignoli. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Gens.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church; 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY.
Interment will be held in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY.
