Susan R. Borowski

Susan R. Borowski

Susan Ruth (Marker) Borowski, age 80, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2026, at Brothers of Mercy Rehab in Clarence, New York, following a brief illness. Born on Sept. 7, 1945, in Jamestown, New York, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Everett C. and Ruth S. Marker. She grew up in Greenhurst, New York, on the shores of Chautauqua Lake and was a proud graduate of Bemus Point High School. Susan pursued her passion for helping others by graduating from nursing school as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her career as a nurse spanned decades and included dedicated service at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, New York, and Lakeshore Hospital in Irving, New York. She also provided compassionate care through private nursing until her retirement in the late 1990s. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her caring nature. In 1970, Susan married Dennis J. Borowski, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2015. Together they built their life in Sunset Bay, New York, where Susan resided for over 50 years before moving to Glenwell Assisted Living in Cheektowaga this past fall. Susan was an outgoing and caring individual who cherished time spent with friends and family. She loved gathering with friends for coffee and was an active member of the Silver Creek Senior Citizens group. A lover of nature and simple joys, she found great happiness in flowers, birds, puzzles, listening to music and taking scenic drives through the countryside. Susan was a past member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Silver Creek and St. Anthony’s Church in Irving. Susan is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey D. Borowski and Gregory D. Borowski (wife Kimberly R. Borowski); her cherished grandchildren, Mikayla L. Borowski and Everett J. Borowski; her sister, Marie Coons; and her brother Phillip Marker, as well as many dear friends who will miss her warmth and kindness. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis J. Borowski; her parents, Everett C. Marker and Ruth S. Marker; and leaves behind a legacy of love that will be remembered by all who knew her. May Susan’s memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and inspire all to live with the same compassion she so generously shared throughout her life.

A memorial gathering will be planned in the future for family and friends in Sunset Bay.
