Aurora, CO: Todd Tanner, 53, of Aurora, CO passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital following a valiant battle with cancer. Todd was born in Dunkirk, NY on March 6, 1972, the son of Terry Tanner of Silver Creek and the late Patricia (Orth) Tanner. Todd was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1990, and worked as an Operations Manager for United Airlines for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Michelle (Merrill) Tanner, of Aurora, CO, whom he married on September 15, 2001 in the Forestville United Methodist Church. In addition, he is survived by two daughters; Madison Tanner of Jamestown, NY, and Ryleigh Tanner, of Aurora, CO, and his sister Tammy (Don) Wright of Silver Creek. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his sister Tracy Tanner.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the entire healthcare team at UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center, with special recognition to John Novak, PA-C, whose exceptional care, compassion, and uplifting humor made this difficult journey more bearable.
While there will be no funeral service, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Denver Hospice, 8289 E Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO 80230 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
