David A. Rice

He was born on Nov.3, 1935 in Salamanca, NY the son of the late Elton and Esther Rice. He married the former Sandra Ames on Sept. 19, 1959 in Salamanca, NY.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Sandra A. Rice of Silver Creek; a devoted son, David E. Rice of Silver Creek; two grandsons, Michael (Jenna) and Matthew Rice both of Columbus, Ohio a dear sister, Marilyn (late Robert) Adamic of Florida; the three Harford sisters were family to him and he considered them to be like his own grandchildren, Noelle, Emily and Shelby( Stephen P. Marcey III) Harford; a cherished great -grandson, Brayden and a great-granddaughter, Scarlett; also former daughter-in-law, Kathleen Rice of Columbus, Ohio.

He was predeceased by a son, Todd Rice.

Dave graduated from Salamanca High School in 1953 and Bryant & Stratton College where he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting. He was a proud veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Dave worked for the former Great Lakes Color Printing Co. as an accountant for more than 30 years and held the same position for CPS for 10 years before retiring.

A member of the First United Presbyterian Church since 1971, he attended and served faithfully as a member of the church choir. He offered guidance, support and friendship to the pastors and members of the church community. Dave was an accomplished musician he played the saxophone for the New Horizon Band in Fredonia, NY.

He shared his love of walleye fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed sports and was die-hard Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan.

As per his wishes there will be no public visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held in the future, date and time to be announced.
