Elba Torres

Born on March 9, 1962, Elba was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She shared a loving life with her spouse, Norberto Mercado, and built a home centered on faith, family, and love.

Elba found joy in the simple but meaningful moments of life. She loved caring for her parrots, spending quiet time doing puzzles, attending church, and sharing laughter while playing dominoes. Above all, she cherished being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest treasures of her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Norberto Mercado; her daughters, Grendaliz Torres, Angie Echevarria-Garcia, Stephanie Mercado, and Natasha Mercado(Tesla Mercado) and her sons, Norberto Mercado Jr (Amanda Mercado), Joel Mercado(Isamar Mercado) & She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Elba’s love, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain a guiding light for her family forever.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 9-11 a.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY. Prayers services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.
