Charles R. Nixon Jr.
1946-2026
Charles “Bob” Robert Nixon Jr. of 13 School Street, Brocton, NY, passed away at Brooks Memorial Hospital on May 14, 2026.
Charles was born on October 22, 1946 in Brocton to Margaret (Bubbs) and Charles Robert Nixon Sr.
He worked with his father and brothers on their dairy farm growing up.
Charles graduated from Brocton Central School as salutatorian in 1964. He graduated from Alfred University in 1968. He worked at various jobs, including the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Plant where the Army drafted him and sent him to Vietnam. He served in the Army until 1972. He then returned to Allegheny Ludlum Steel where he worked for 30 years until retirement.
While working at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Plant, he was instrumental in starting the Al-Tech Federal Credit Union which later merged with Chautauqua Highway Employees Credit Union which was later renamed Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union. After retiring from Allegheny Ludlum, he worked another 10 years for the New York State Insurance Fund until retiring again. After his second retirement, he became a security guard at Petri Bakery.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (Bubbs) Nixon and Charles R. Nixon Sr., his two brothers, Richard and Eddy Nixon, his sister, Janey Lus, his brother-in-law, Chucky Lus and his aunt Marion Crowe.
Charles is survived by his wife, Judy Musso Coleman Nixon; his brother-in-law, Peter “Sparky” Musso; his sons, Scott, Greg, Jeff; and daughter, Kellee. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Cole and Henry Naperalski; his sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Kenny Doyle; his sister-in-law, Jan Nixon of Idaho; and his half siblings, Ruth Wilson, Robin Nixon, James Nixon, Judy Monroe Nixon, Nancy Nixon; as well as his step-mother, Pat Nixon.
Charles never met a person he didn’t like talking to. His interests were stocks and bonds, educational pursuits and his membership in Mensa International.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the American Legion J W Dill Post 434, 101 W Main St. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Brocton Fire Department.
