Richard “Dick” H. Potter
Richard “Dick” H. Potter, III, 70, of Dunkirk, died Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at RRH United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia. He was born in Dunkirk on October 15, 1955, the son of the late Richard and Jayne (Wampole) Potter, Jr.
Dick was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1974 and worked for the former Dunkirk Ice Cream and retired from Wells Foods Corporation in 2021. He was a Rock-N-Roll music fan, enjoyed food and was a gentle soul.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachael (Al) Hodge, of Youngsville, PA, a son, Nathan (Veronica) Potter, of Lafayette, NC, two brothers; John (Vicky Valvo) Potter, of Arkwright, and James (Wendy) Potter, of Fredonia. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Shiann, Eli, Ivan, Sebastian and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Mary Loftus.
A Private Graveside Service will be held in Charlotte Center Cemetery, Town of Charlotte.
