Randall Martin Duck 1962-2026

Randall was born on February 27, 1962, to Virginia Kay (Ruttenbur) Duck and Martin LaRue Duck of Hamlet, NY. Lovingly known as Randy, to his many friends and family, he was a long-time resident of South Dayton.

Randy is predeceased by his son, Cory Martin Duck. He is survived by his younger brothers, Lonnie Lindquist (Michelle), Russell Duck (Angela), and Ricky Duck (Stacy). He is also survived by his daughter, Cortney (Duck) Ledford (Joshua), and his youngest son, Joseph Scinta. Randy is also survived by his two grandchildren; Liam and Riley, as well as four nephews, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

Randy was a graduate of Pine Valley Central High School, served briefly in the U.S. Army, and was a self-employed auto mechanic for many years.

His time with the military was limited, but he often spoke of it fondly. His time in Germany and the many skills he learned from being a tank mechanic. His favorite bands that he was able to attend concerts in his time abroad. Seeing the Swiss Alps from both sides and visiting the surrounding areas with his friends.

He was an incredibly hard worker who rarely shied away from a complicated project. He held many skills which he acquired from a number of occupations that he’d had over his lifetime. From doing farm work in his teen years, becoming a skilled carpenter, learning auto mechanics like his father before him, tree cutting, and even learning masonry from his close friends in his later years.

He was a lover of rock music, and loved attending concerts and music festivals whenever possible. Randy was an avid gardener, and loved spending time outside, especially camping with his children and grandchildren. He loved to mentor his sons on everything auto related and was always ready to start the next project with them.

Randy was a loving father and truly enjoyed spending his time being a grandfather.

Randy was also a fierce and loyal friend, with a great sense of humor, and a kind and giving heart. He was always willing to help his friends and family in any way that he could.

Randy will be sorely missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
