Tedd F. Wilkins
1944-2026
Tedd F. Wilkins, passed unexpectedly May 18th, 2026, surrounded by his children, April (Wilkins) Lanphere (Garry), Jessica (Wilkins) Hazenberg (Andrew), and Tedd Justin Wilkins (John Fisher). Tedd was born in Westfield, NY on April 5, 1944 and was an incredibly proud Veteran of the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Whitfield County (LST-1169) and the USS Montrose (APA-212).
He was a longtime employee of Milco of North East, PA, before serving as a Steward (and lifetime member) at the VFW post 6764, where his welding skills are still displayed atop their sign in metallic, red, white, and blue letters.
He was known as a jack of all trades. From cars to woodworking, he was always willing to lend his hand, especially at the request of his children.
Most memorable, was his joking sense of humor which was always at its best when interacting with his special needs sister, Judy. He could make her laugh like no other.
Whether tapping out a beat with the butter knife on the counter top while his bread was in the toaster or whistling with trills and cadences unmatched by any instrument, he loved his music. From jazz to oldie goldies, he played it loud and with the bass on max. He loved going for rides in the car to nowhere in particular but often ending up at the lake. He loved nostalgia and told the best stories of his childhood and navy days. He loved old movies, TV shows and Westerns. Most of all, he loved homemade popcorn and taught his children to make it on the stove top the old fashioned way, just like his mother, Beatrice Wilkins.
Tedd is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice (Joslyn) Wilkins, his father, Howard (Red) Wilkins, his sister, Judith Wilkins, and his brother, Larry (Joyce) Wilkens.
In addition to his three children, he is survived by his wife, Laura (Morton) Wilkins, his stepchildren, Pamela (Gary) Henry, Amanda (Jason) Pacanowski and his sisters, Joan Wilkins, Karen (Fred) Perra, his beloved dog, Dolly, several grand and great grandchildren as well as several nieces (their Uncle Teddy).
Per Tedd’s request, no services will be held.
