Alan Reid Woodlee, 80, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday morning June 25, 2026 at his home.
He was born on May 29, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Joe Alan and Marie (McElroy)
Woodlee. He married Charlene D. Noble on December 20, 1969 in Westfield, NY.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years Charlene Woodlee; a daughter, Debra Lynn Woodlee
(Christian Duro, Jamestown, NY) of Westfield, NY and a son, Scott Alan (Christine) Woodlee of
Mohicanville, OH; two cherished granddaughters, Evelyn Noel and Norah Hope Woodlee.
Alan graduated from Uniondale High School in 1964. He continued his education at SUNY Fredonia earning a Bachelor of Science in Education; Speech and Hearing Handicapped and later received a Master of Science in Education from the University of Buffalo. He later earned his School Psychology Certification at Edinboro University.
Alan worked for Westfield Academy and Central School as a Special Education Teacher and as an
Elementary School Teacher. At Hopevale UFSD, he was a School Psychologist, and at The Resource
Center he retired as a Behavioral Specialist, in Jamestown, NY.
He was a founding member of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church. Over the years he went on several mission trips overseas to Haiti, Cuba, and Tanzania. Alan and his wife have been a part of John Shiver Ministries for many years. And Alan was especially passionate about his prison ministry with Bill Glass Behind the Walls, where he volunteered for 10 plus years and helped coordinate more than 50 events.
He loved baseball and enjoyed going to Erie, PA to watch the Erie SeaWolves, and attended games at
nearby baseball training camps when visiting Sebring, FL during retirement. Alan also collected HO Model Trains and spent many hours in his shop planning and working on his model railroad layout. He was an avid reader with interests in Bible, theology as well as Fantasy and Science Fiction.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2026, at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, 12 English St. Westfield, NY at 3 PM.
